Inter-Country Adoption Association (Ireland)

India has ratified the Hague Convention and it has been entered into force since 1/10/2003.

The central authority in India is called CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority).
CARA is responsible for regulating and monitoring the adoption of children in India.

Currently there is no working agreement between Ireland and India.

As of 1st July 2011, CARA advised that it is in the process of revision its Inter-country Adoption Family Guidelines. Until such revision takes place CARA will not accept new dossiers for inter-country adoption.
