Inter-Country Adoption Association (Ireland)

The Inter-Country Adoption Association (Ireland) began life in 1994 as the Romanian Adoption Support Group.
In 1999 our name changed to the Inter-Country Adoption Association as many other countries opened up for adoption and we evolved to meet the needs of people wanting information and support. In 2010 we had a minor change to the title and are now known as the Inter-Country Adoption Association (Ireland).
Our membership is currently approximately 1,000 and continually growing. Monthly meetings are held in Cork (see Diary of Events) where information is shared regarding the inter-country adoption process which initially can seem very daunting.
Our aim is to provide up-to-date information on both pre and post adoption issues and includes information on the following:
·         Waiting lists
·         Preparation course
·          Assessments
·         Countries open for adoption
·          Process/dossier
·          Travel information
·         Health issues
·         Culture
·         Other support groups
·          Services information (HSE and others)
·          Social Networking.
